FAQ

you have questions, we have answers…

When should we RSVP by?

Please make sure you RSVP by the 21st of September. Unfortunately we are unable to accept late RSVPs past this date!

What should I wear? What’s the dress code?

There’s no set dress code really—and we know that can be really annoying, so our best guidance is, wear something that you’d like to wear to a nice afternoon tea! At the end of the day, all that matters to us is that you have fun and wear clothes that make you feel good.

Maeve will be wearing a black dress, but you may wear black if you wish! Anyone is free to wear whichever colours they would like.

In terms of weather, it will be a crisp spring weekend in the mountains. We expect the temperature to be around 13°C - 18°C, so please keep that in mind and dress accordingly. The ceremony will be outside (and short), but the reception will be inside where it is warmer.

I’m vegan/vegetarian/have dietary restrictions!

No problem - we can accommodate! Just indicate that on your RSVP :)

Can I bring a plus one?

Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate plus ones at our wedding unless specifically listed on your invite.

Can I take photos?

During the ceremony, we ask that you please do not take any photos—that’s what we’re paying our photographer for :) At the reception, however, you’re more than welcome to!

How should I refer to you two in terms of gender? Is this a gay wedding?

It is indeed a big ol’ gay wedding! Maeve uses they/them pronouns, and Tim uses he/him pronouns. In terms of language, “people getting married” (rather than bride/groom) is a safe bet. We’ll be using “partner” to describe each other, rather than ‘husband’ and ‘wife’.

We’re also skipping some of the traditions typically associated with a wedding (see above: black dress).

Will Maeve take Tim’s last name?

No. We have each chosen to keep our names—Maeve will remain Ms. Maeve King-Devery, and Tim will remain Mr. Timothy Boye.

Help! I have more questions!

No worries—reach out to Tim or I and we’ll do our best to provide answers :D

Are children welcome?

Our wedding will be a child-free event. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.

Where should we stay?

For all guests, two nights of accommodation have been reserved for you at the venue (Parklands), completely free of charge. This is for Friday and Saturday nights.

Check-in on Friday (4th October) is from 3pm. Check-out on Sunday (6th October) is from 11 am.

You don’t have to use both nights of accommodation if you don’t want to, or can’t, stay for that long! Just indicate which night/s you would like to use on your RSVP form, which you can access by clicking the ‘RSVP’ button on the top right of the page.
